18-Year-Old Man Shot Dead In Camden: Prosecutor

An 18-year-old man was shot dead in Camden, authorities said.

Jesus Manuel Ortiz-Hernandez, of Camden City. was killed on Wednesday, Oct. 18, according to Camden County Prosecutorj Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

At 4:14 p.m., Camden County Police responded to the 2700 block of Hayes Avenue for a ShotSpotter activation. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim at 22nd Street and River Road who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, and he was pronounced deceased at approximately 7:15 p.m. 

This investigation is active and ongoing at this time.
